How to make a Basic Ballet Bun


Making a ballet bun takes practice, so don't be too hard on yourself if it isn't perfect the first few times. We would love to see your progress…Don’t forget to tag us for #Sundaybunday for a chance to be featured on our Instagram Story!

What you need:

-Spray Bottle

-Brush (I personally like the “Wet Brush” Brand)

-Smoothing out Brush (Not used in video, but very helpful!)

-Hairspray (Squirting + aerosol

-Detangler Spray is a good alternative to hairspray if you prefer not to use hairspray

-Bobby Pins (2 kinds

-Hair Net (Not used in video, but can be helpful if you have lots of wispy hairs  and aren't using hair spray)

- Hair accessory (Fancy pin, Clip, headband, scrunchie etc.)

-Ponytail

10 Simple Steps:

  1. Spray Hair

  2. Brush Hair

  3. Put hair into a Ponytail

  4. Clean it up with Hair Spray

  5. Spray Ponytail

  6. Twist PonyTail 

  7. Begin wrapping the hair around the center of the ponytail inserting the pin (see video for technique)

  8. HAIRSPRAY!!!!

  9. Add any accessories 

  10. Aerosol hair spray for the final touches
